Otranto is the easternmost point of Italy; in front of it you have the border between Albania and Greece and, in clear days, you can perfectly see the Albanian mountains on the other side. We are so close to the other side that if you turn on the radio you only get Albanian and Greek radio stations; you can also get a message from Vodafone Greece that welcomes you to their Country.
This short distance to the other side is the reason of Otranto historical importance; walking around this old fortified village you will feel the mix of cultures that have passed through here and visiting the Cathedral you will be stunned by its floor mosaic from the XII Century and the Chapel with all the bones of the Martyrs that reminds us about the war against the Ottomans.
